Hot Dog!

I'm the worst vegetarian ever.  Two posts in a row about hot dogs?  What the heck.

But look at these guys - so cute!  They are called curly hot dog snakes - from Canadian Living.  Recipe here if you want it - my favorite part is that they suggest you "serve with “bloody” ketchup and “snake gut” mustard."  AWESOME!

Krafty Halloween Food

This idea just made me laugh, laugh.  Look at those little guys sticking out!

Its a recipe from Kraft Foods for a Halloweeny dinner - made by sticking hot dogs in mac n cheese, then drawing eyes on said dogs with mustard.  Insane?  But I kind of want it.  Hot dogs and mac n cheese are two of my favorite things.  Even if I haven't had a hot dog in 3+ years.  (The veggie one from Crif Dogs on Saturday night notwithstanding.)

If you want the recipe its here, but I'm sure you can figure it out on your own from the picture.

Whistle While You Work!

I know I haven't had many crafty posts lately.  But I have been a busy bee!
I have my very first craft fair coming up in a few weeks and I'm hustling to get enough items sewn and ready to go so my table doesn't look too vacant.

I finished five wine bags on Sunday - some in fun brights, and some in more autumnal colors.

(Here is a better pic of a similar one I made in the past, and sold on etsy.)
Last night I whipped up this cute tote bag - the fabrics are so fun!  Berries and flowers on the outside...

Adorable little bugs on the inside!  I hope I find someone who likes it as much as me!

More to come -  what would you like to see?

The Rock

Now I'm in a dither. I can't decide which "The Rock" I like better.

This one. Or.

This one!

Visiting Alcatraz was my #1 activity that I wanted to do while in San Francisco.

Frances was a good sport. Also there were nachos on the ferry boat, so that made things A-OK.

Whee! I love fun transportation!

The boat ride was only 12 minutes long. Windy, though, if you're wearing a dress. Like I was/usually am.

We tried to take some nice shots together but this was the least goofy. Oh well!

Lovely views to gaze upon while traversing the bay.

And some amazing scenery once we arrived!

This was the officers club, it better days. A striking structure, though, even now.

The Signs of San Francisco

Hello there!  I'm back from my trip out West and wanted to share some pictures with you!

One thing about this amazing city that really struck me was all of the cool, retro signage.

In every neighborhood, you'll find something neato!

I took tons of pictures, but I thought it would be neat to show all of the signs all together.

So check it out!

Nutella is Bella

Do you like nutella?  Yeah, I know, who doesn't?  Jerks, that's who!

Guess what I had for dessert recently?  NUTELLA PIZZA!  Yummo!  Not a great pic but I wanted to share.
Basically, just pizza dough, nice and crispified, sliced in half and filled with nutella.  Powdered sugar on top.  So good - and would be so easy to make too!  You could even throw in some strawberries or other fun toppings.  Or not, its delish as is.  Try it!

Classy Fun

After all the fun walkabouts, we were hungry!  Sasha made us a delicious vegetarian lasagna, but we needed a wee snack in the mean time.

Check out our classy spread!  Brie with Raspberry chipotle sauce, bread and sangria.  Yum!

We got this cool bread called Fougasse.
Neato!

Billy poses with his sangria.

George is no help at all in the kitchen preparations.

But Melissa was!  She made her signature Sangria.  Awesome!

Look how pretty with a splash of Orange Juice on the bottom!

Salem Town!

Salem isn't all scary!  In the daylight its quite lovely, in fact.

A room or two at this pretty inn are rumored to be haunted, but it looks nice to me!

We visited the coolest used book store - this place was SERIOUS.

Talk about overwhelming!  I didn't even know when to start.

A former "home for aged women."  Not a bad place to end up, I suppose.

Just a couple of cow-girls, hanging around town.

Spoooky Salem!

In case you were wondering, my fabulous voyage to Salem did not avoid the spooky festivities for which the town is famous.  We went on an awesome ghost tour!

While Melissa may have been wary, it wasn't too scary - more historical.  (Which I LOVE.  Check me out with my new boyfriend, Eric the Revolutionary War tour guide.  Damn, what is it about Colonial garb that gets me?)

Hot, right?

This grave was struck by lightning - woah!

We visited several churches and grave sites and heard some spooky stories.  I didn't glimpse any ghosts, but it was fun anyway!

Fall Fun at Crane Estates

Continuing my fabulous trip to Massachusetts this weekend...after apple picking we visited
The Crane Estate in Ipswich/Essex.
It was kind of amazing.

How pretty would this place be for a wedding?  There were 3 there the day we visited.

Even the more run down areas are just beautiful and romantic.

My new friend!

One of the statues had vacated her post, so I stepped up.  Literally.
